John P. Nett serves as city engineer at the City of Buda. He has 35 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering services for numerous federal, state, municipal, utility, and industrial entities. Nett’s professional background includes project engineering for municipal public works programs; project management of program-wide municipal solid waste operations; investigation and remediation of contaminated properties and active and inactive manufacturing facilities; construction site management; environmental data management; data quality objectives development; and engineering design and specifications development. Nett also is a voting member at the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Advisory Committee, where he advises the Transportation Policy Board on policy and technical issues.
Prior to his work with the City of Buda, Nett worked for the City of Killeen for 10 years.
He earned his Master of Science from Kansas State University and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas. In addition, Nett obtained his Floodplain Manager Certification from the Texas Floodplain Management Association.
